Emmanuel Macron has been elected the president of France for the next five years. The 44-year old accumulated 58.55% of the total votes to retain the seat as the leader of the french-speaking country. Macron defeated rival Marine Le Pen, who nevertheless secured the far right’s highest share of the vote yet.
