Five Ghana Premier League clubs will receive compensation as Qatar’s 2022 World Cup benefits from the USD 209 million disbursed. The Accra-based club was represented by striker Daniel Afriyie-Barnieh at the World Cup and will receive $219,008.70. Two motorcycle riders were fatally killed on Wednesday, July 12, 2023, around 1:15 a.m. by a Toyota Camry at Awoshie, a suburb in Accra. The tragic incident occurred on the Awoshie-Pokuase highway in a suburb of Accra. According to an eyewitness, the victims on the motorcycle rode on the opposite side of the highway, facing oncoming vehicles.
