Ghana Premier League giant, Asante Kotoko are close to signing Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala.
The Porcupine Warriors are augmenting their squad for the next league season both domestically and the upcoming CAF Champions League.
They have already signed Emmanuel Keyekeh from Karela United, Yusif Mubarik formerly of AshantiGold Sporting Club and Patrick Asmah as a free agent after ending his stay with Italian Serie A side Atalanta BC.

It was earlier in the news that, the Ghana Premier League record holders have casted their net wide, this time around on Ugandan striker Steven Mukwala.

Mukwala who spent last season on loan at Maroon FC from Vipers FC, scored 13 goals in 23 matches to the win the topscorer award.

Confirming his possible move to Asante Kotoko, Mukwala told to Kumasi-based Oyerepa FM that, “For now I can’t say much because we are still negotiating. We haven’t finished the deal yet. We are in talks and I hope for the best.”
He has already become a top target for many African clubs following his spectacular performance last season for Maroon FC.

Should the deal materialized, Steven Mukwala will become the third Ugandan to play for Asante Kotoko after Joseph Ochaya and George Abege.
