The management of Asante Kotoko Sporting Club has expressed its profound gratitude to individuals, institutions, and organizations that supported them during the final funeral rites of their late supporter, Francis Yaw Frimpong, affectionately known as “Pooley.”
In an official statement, the club extended special appreciation to key figures, including the Ashanti Regional Minister, Dr. Frank Amoakohene, and the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, who was represented by the Ashanti Regional Police Commander and the regional police hierarchy. The club also acknowledged the support of traditional leaders (Nananom), the President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Mr. Kurt Okraku, his Vice President, Mr. Mark Addo, the GFA Executive Council, and the Ashanti Regional FA Chairman.
Asante Kotoko also recognized the chairman of the Ghana League Clubs Association (GHALCA), Mr. John Ansah, and his members for their presence and support. The club extended appreciation to their colleagues in the football fraternity, including Accra Hearts of Oak, Bechem United, Berekum Chelsea, Bibiani Gold Stars, Nations FC, Okwawu United, and Namoro FC, for their solidarity during this difficult period.
The statement also highlighted the contributions of the media, particularly those in Kumasi, for their role in covering the funeral and showing support to the club and the bereaved family.
