Ghana international Antoine Semenyo has earned a nomination for the Premier League Player of the Month award for August after an impressive run with AFC Bournemouth.
The Black Stars forward made a significant impact for the Cherries, scoring two goals and providing one assist in three matches. Semenyo kicked off the 2025/26 season with a brace against Liverpool at Anfield, though Bournemouth fell 4-2 in a late defeat. He followed up by assisting in the team’s narrow victory over Wolverhampton Wanderers in their second match.
Semenyo faces tough competition for the award, going up against Manchester City’s Erling Haaland, Liverpool’s Hugo Ekitike and Dominik Szoboszlai, Crystal Palace’s Marc Guehi, Chelsea’s Joao Pedro, Everton’s Jack Grealish, and Arsenal’s Riccardo Calafiori.

Currently, Semenyo is with the Ghana national team, preparing for the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The Black Stars will take on Chad at the Stade Olympique Maréchal Idriss Déby Itno on Thursday, September 4, at 1 p.m., followed by a crucial home match against Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium on September 8.
