Alan Kojo Kyeremanteng has boldly declared his intention to contest as an independent candidate in the forthcoming 2024 general elections and has resigned from his role in the party.
Honorable John Allan Kyeremanteng has resigned from the NPP, and he is now ready to run as an independent presidential candidate.
He officially submitted his resignation, stating that he is no longer interested in being a member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), on Monday, September 25, 2023.
Immediately after that, he addressed a press conference and announced his decision to contest in 2024 as an independent candidate.
Allan is now forming a movement called “Movement for Change” with a monarch butterfly as the symbol.
This is the second time he has resigned in his political career. Kyerematen, who served as Minister of Commerce in the governments of John Agyekum Kufuor and Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, recently attended the NPP super delegate conference for the position of flag bearer.
However, he came in third in the election and later withdrew from the race, citing intimidation and unfair treatment by his supporters in the Northeast region.
