At long last the much awaited Metropolitan, Municipal and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) list has been announced.
This comes few days after President Akufo-Addo, during his three-day tour to the Western Region, revealed that the list will be out this month.[ads2]
It would be recalled that President Akufo-Addo in January this year directed all MMDCEs to remain at post until new ones are appointed.
This saw South Dayi MP, Rockson-Nelson Dafeamekpor, dragging the government to court over the continuous stay of MMDCEs in office eight months after a new administration came into office.[ads3]
But President Akufo-Addo explained that the list has delayed due to a broad consultations to ensure that Ghanaians won’t have any problem with the list should it be announced.[ads4]
Announcing the list today, the Local Government Minister Dan Botwe reiterated that the list has been delayed due to a thorough consultations and believes there would be no qualms about the nominees the President has chosen.
