Ghana midfielder, Afriyie Acquah has joined Iraqi club, Al-Ouwa Al-Jawiya on a free transfer.
The 31-year old has joined Al-Jawiya on a performance-based contract with a one-year extension period.
The former Torino enforcer has joined Al-Ouwa Al-Jawiya on transfer deadline day after leaving Saudi Arabian outfit Al Batin.
He left Al Batin after featuring in eight matches in the 2021/22 league season.
His experience as a professional footballer will be needed in the Al-Ouwa Al-Jawiya set-up in the league campaign.
Afriyie Acquah has capped 39 matches for Ghana since making his debut in a friendly against Chile at the PPL Park in Chester -Pennsylvania, USA in February, 2021 and scored his first goal against Malawi in October, 2021.
In May 2014, Afriyie Acquah was named in a provisional 26-man squad in the FIFA World Cup by then Ghana coach James Kwesi Appiah, and was subsequently selected for the tournament in 2014.
