Ghana captain Andre Ayew was named the man of the match in Gabon 1:1 stalemate in the second game of the AFCON 2021 at the Ahmadou Ahidjo Stadium in Yaounde on Friday evening.
The Al Sadd attacker netted Ghana’s goal win the 19th minute before Jim Allevinah could slot home the equaliser for Gabon with just two minutes to the end of the crucial game.[ads2]
Ayew was a delight to watch even though Ghana failed to spank Gabon who went into the game without starman Pierre Emerick Aubameyang due to Covid-19 issues.
The former Swansea City forward lasted 90 minutes before he was substituted for striker Benjamin Tetteh during the additional time.[ads3]
The goal makes Andre Ayew Ghana’s all-time topscorer in the AFCON with ten goals.
Meanwhile, Ghana will have to beat Comoros in the last group game on Tuesday to be able to progress to the knockout stage of the tournament.[ads5]
