Asante Kotoko defender Abdul Ganiyu has renewed his contract with the club untill 2023.
The top central defender has renewed his contract with the Ghana Premier league heavyweight for two years after successful negotiations.[ads2]
He has his initial three-year contract nearing expiration hence putting pen to paper for the Porcupines ahead of the upcoming league season.
Ganiyu is expected to have huge increase in salary after signing the new contract with the Ghana Premier league record holders.
He is expected to be named the new Asante Kotoko captain following the departure of goalkeeper Felix Annan and winger Emmanuel Gyamfi.[ads3]
Ganiyu was arguably one of the best center-backs in the Ghana Premier league last season which saw him earning Black Stars invitation on two separate assignments, featuring in AFCON qualifying game against South Africa in Johannesburg.
He joined Asante Kotoko on a three-year deal in 2018 from fellow premiership outfit Karela United after a scintillating form that year.[ads5]
