This sparked an intense fury among the youth of the area who mounted roadblocks and vehemently registered their displeasure in a demonstration upon hearing about the death of the young who looked ebullient, exuberant and full of good prospects.
Mr. Marcus Mawukor was one of the Assembly members who were democratically elected during the Tuesday December 17, 2016 Municipal and District Level Elections in the country which saw 57,030 aspirants contesting at the grassroots for power and decentralisation of governance.
In order to expedite arrests and help bring the perpetrators of the flagitious and monstrous crime to book, former President and founder of the National Democratic Congress, President Jerry John Rawlings has voted a bounty of whooping Ghc25,000 as a reward for anyone who volunteers or gives reliable information that could lead to the arrest of the culprits.

In a latest development, a Sogakope Police Officer stationed at Agave was alleged to have said, “If we had known he was so popular, we wouldn’t have killed him”. This came up as the said policeman (believed to be tipsy at the time) was involved in a conversation with a friend at a drinking spot. This happened at Akatsi which is a small town in the Volta Region.
