The Ghana Black Stars are scheduled to play an additional friendly match against Mexico as part of their final preparations for the 2026 World Cup.
El Tri will face Ghana on May 22 in Mexico, with the venue yet to be confirmed. On May 30, they will travel to California to meet Australia, before returning home on June 4 for a farewell match against Serbia, also at a yet-to-be-announced venue in Mexico. Both Australia and Ghana have qualified for the 2026 tournament, while Serbia did not advance through Europe’s competitive qualifying campaign.
These fixtures will contribute to an already busy schedule. Mexico is set to play against the Iceland national football team on February 25 at Estadio La Corregidora in Querétaro. In March, El Tri will face the Portugal national football team at Estadio Banorte and the Belgium national football team at Soldier Field in Chicago.
Mexico will commence its World Cup campaign on June 11 against the South Africa national football team at Estadio Azteca, which will make history as the first stadium to host three men’s World Cups.
