FC Samartex 1996 have confirmed the appointment of former Black Stars and Asante Kotoko striker Eric Bekoe to their technical team, a move seen as a major boost to the club’s long-term development strategy.
Bekoe, who made his mark as one of Ghana’s most clinical finishers, will serve in a dual capacity as Head of the Samartex Youth Team and Strikers Coach for the senior men’s side.
The 2007/08 Ghana Premier League top scorer with Kotoko enjoyed a prolific playing career, featuring for Berekum Chelsea in the Ghanaian topflight and Egypt’s Petrojet, before representing the Black Stars at international level.
Samartex believe his wealth of experience, technical know-how, and proven record of mentoring young players will be vital as the club seeks to cement its place among Ghana’s elite while building a pipeline of future talent.
Bekoe’s arrival underscores the club’s ambition to balance competitive success in the Ghana Premier League with the long-term goal of nurturing the next generation of football stars.
