A Nigerian footballer, Jacob Wisdom Chukwuemeka has bagged a six-year jail term over offences bordering on internet fraud.[ads2]
Chukwuemeka was arraigned before a federal high court in Nigeria on October 4 by the anti-graft agency, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Ilorin Zonal Command on two counts bordering on possession of funds acquired fraudulently.
According to a statement by EFCC’s Head Media and Publicity Wilson Uwujaren on Wednesday, Wisdom Chukwuemeka was convicted and sentenced after he pleaded guilty to the two counts “owing to his arraignment with the commission”.[ads3]
Chukwuemeka was sentenced to six years for each count, with the sentence to run concurrently.[ads4]
