General manager of AshantiGold Sporting Club, Albert Commey has alleged that Hearts of Oak game against Real Tamale United (RTU) in the last round of the just ended Ghana Premier League was fixed.
In the said game, Hearts of Oak lost 4:1 to relegation-threatening side RTU at the Accra Sports Stadium – a scoreline which didn’t go down well with most supporters of the Rainbow giants.
Speaking in an interview on Space FM in Sunyani, Albert Commey, who is a former executive member of the Ghana Football Association, revealed that not only Hearts of Oak and RTU fixture was fixed, rather GoldStars versus AshantiGold SC, Eleven Wonders versus Aduana Stars as well as King Faisal and Legon Cities FC were all fixed matches.
He said, “the matches between GoldStars and Ashgold was a fixed match. Eleven Wonders vs Aduana Stars was a fixed match, King Faisal vs Legon Cities was a fixed match and lastly Hearts vs RTU was also a fixed match. Let us not be hypocrites or else we wouldn’t move forward in Ghana football.”
This comes few weeks ago after the Ghana Football Association demoted AshantiGold and Inter Allies to the division two after engaging in match of convenient last two seasons.
Even though the two clubs have made an appealed, the demotion will be taking effect from next league season.
