The Censorship Board of the National Film Authority has finally given the greenlight for the premiering of controversial movie ‘My Last Sex’.
The movie which was supposed to have been premiered in January 2020 but was banned after the Western Regional branch of the Directors Guild of Ghana issued a statement warning the public of nudity and pornographic materials contained in the movie after its trailer was released.[ads2]
This led to the arrest of the production house AB Michaels alongside his team as well as the director of the movie but were later granted bail.

“Upon the release of “MY LAST SEX’’ first teaser poster on social media on January 2020, The Film Directors Guild of Ghana (FDGG) and Ghana Actors GUILD (GAG) Western Region had a press release that “My Last Sex’’ is porn. “Film Directors Guild of Ghana (FDGG- W/R) and Ghana Actors Guild (GAG-W/R) wish to bring to the attention of the general public that short movie with the aforementioned title and its art cover has two much nudity and pornographic materials so do not support its premier or release – 31st January 2020.[ads3]
“These guilds fighting against the releasing of “My Last Sex’’ quickly called upon National Film Authority, Censorship Board to fight on their behalf – Lucky for them, the wise film director and producer AB Michaels had not yet censored the film and that was where the film act caught him. So on the 3rd February, 2020, Information Services Department, Cinema Section (Film Censorship Board) brought out a release “Exhibition of unclassified film- My Last Sex’’ on that
same day 3rd February 2020.
“The Film Censorship Board wrote to the Western Regional Police Commander to clamp down the exhibition of audiovisual works without classification. FDGG-W/R and GAG-W/R activities stopping AB Michaels and his Wise House Films continued, as on the 11th February, 2020. The Wise Film Director and producer AB Michaels and his team were arrested and later granted bail.

“Film Directors Guild of Ghana and GAG wish to inform the general public that a short movie with the aforementioned title has been BANNED for premiering on the 14th February, 2020.’’
“Now the porn movie as Film Directors Guild of Ghana (FDGG) and Ghana Actors GUILD
(GAG) western region called “MY LAST SEX’’ has been censored by the National Film
Authority – Censorship Board. So can we say the National Film Authority of Ghana has
endorsed pornographic movie?
