The Ghana Football Association (GFA) will from next season roll out a policy that will forbid coaches with license B certificate from heading division One League clubs.
The minimum certificate for a division One League coach next season will be CAF license A as the association seek to grow football at the lower levels.
This was disclosed by GFA Director of Coaching Education, Professor Joseph Mintah when interacting with the press at the opening of the GFA license D coaching course in the Western Region on Tuesday, January 4, 2022.[ads2]
According to Professor Mintah, the GFA wanted to have roll out the policy before the commencement of the 2021/22 league season but the clubs protested hence postponing it to the next league season.
“….It even started last season but we [GFA] wanted to roll it out this season of which the clubs protested that they have contracts with their coaches among others, but from next season all Premier League coaches should have the license A same as the division one with the assistant coaches a minimum of license B but it will be better the assistant coaches also get a license A. As at now most of the coaches have the license A.”[ads3]
