Ghana will be releasing its squad for the next year’s AFCON on December 20, 2021.
The four-time AFCON champions will be chasing their fifth trophy next year in Cameroon after several attempts since 1982.[ads2]
Coach Milovan Rajevac has presented his squad to the Ghana Football Association for official announcement before commencing pre-AFCON preparations in Qatar on December 23, 2021.
It is believed that coach Rajevac presented a 26-man squad to the Ghana FA for the AFCON 2021.
As part of preparations for the prestigious tournament, Ghana will face Algeria in 2021 pre-AFCON friendly on January 5, 2021 in Qatar.[ads3]
Usual faces of Ayew, Mubarak Wakaso, Thomas Partey, Jordan Ayew and Daniel Amartey tare expected to be part of the squad.
Four locally-based players are expected to be named in the squad with Asante Kotoko skipper Abdul Ganiyu, Dreams FC duo of Fatawu Issahaku and Philemon Baffour and Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Richard Attah rumoured to be the players to get the nod.
Ghana will open camp in Doha, Qatar on December 23. While in the Asian country, they will play three preparatory games.

• Second friendly match against AFCON bound country – January 1, 2022

Ghana has been pitched in a group with Morocco, Gabon and Comoros.
