The Head of Communications at Medeama Sporting Club, Patrick Akoto has admitted that the exit of former coach Samuel Boadu has affected the club badly.
According to Mr. Akoto, the playing body, technical staff, management and even the supporters of the club went through psychological trauma when Samuel Boadu resigned from his position as the head coach of the club for Ghana Premier league heavyweight Hearts of Oak.[ads2]
Speaking on Otec FM in Kumasi, Patrick Akoto stated that the sudden resignation of Samuel Boadu left the club taking rush decisions since coach Boadu’s resignation came as impromptu.
“We didn’t plan for a new coach, he (Samuel Boadu) woke up one day after a game and told us he has resigned. Do you know the psychological trauma he took the club through? We were forced to go and hire two coaches”, Mr. Akoto said.[ads3]
He added that , “A lot of things went on and it has really affected the club because the timing was wrong. That is why the club has resolved from the board that the matter must see its logical.” conclusion. We haven’t seen the last of it, we hope it’s become successful at the appeal” He added.[ads4]
Meanwhile, Medeama Sporting Club dragged Samuel Boadu and his assistant Hamza Obeng to the Ghana FA Statutes Committee for breach of contracts when the two left for Hearts of Oak.
The Statutes Committee in its ruling has ordered coach Samuel Boadu to pay Gh¢30,000.00 whilst Hamza Obeng has bee asked to pay to the Tarkwa-based club Gh¢37,500
Coach Samuel Boadu resigned from Medeama SC as the head coach on February 25, 2021 before joining Hearts of Oak in just seven days afterwards.[ads5]
