The Emergency Committee of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) has postponed the African qualifiers for the 2022 FIFA World Cup to be held in Qatar.
A release from CAF explained that, the decision has become possible due to the challenges imposed on countries in the continent by the devastating coronavirus pandemic.[ads2]
The qualifiers were supposed to have been played in June, 2021 but has been scheduled for October, November, 2021 and March, 2022.[ads3]
The release state that the decision has been taken by CAF in consultation with the world football governing body FIFA.[ads4]
