Former Asante Kotoko and Black Stars legendary goalkeeper, Joe Carr has said the club will make Ghana proud in the upcoming CAF Champions League campaign.
The Ghana Premier League giant will be representing the country in the forthcoming CAF Champions League despite the cancellation of the 2019/20 league season due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Many are of the believe that Asante Kotoko are just going to add up to the numbers despite the club strengthening their squad with great talents.
But Joe Carr, a former goalkeepers trainer for Spanish Laliga side Real Sociedad hold a different view as he believes Asante Kotoko have the quality to compete with the other clubs as far as the next season’s CAF Champions League is concerned.

“I agree Kotoko must go to Africa because it is a great club in Africa and that’s its level. I believe they will excel greatly”, Joe Carr told Fox FM.

“I know Otumfuo [Asantehene and life patron of Kotoko] has put an embargo on the team from signing players but I believe with one or two additions, Kotoko will make Ghana proud”, he added.
Meanwhile Asante Kotoko are set to begin training ahead of the next league season after President Akufo-Addo gave the greenlight for football activities to resume on October 30, 2020.
