Western Regional Football Association Presidential aspirant, Jacob Wemegah has promised to reward best performers of the upcoming Baby Jet U16 tournament in Takoradi.
The two days event which will start on August 20 and ends at August 22 will be held at the Gyandu Park in Sekondi.
Having had a mark in juvenile football development in the Western region, Jacob Wemegah who is the bankroller for the region’s lower tier side Fijai United Soccer Academy in an interview, has promised to reward the best player, best goalkeeper and the topscorer of the competition.
According to the enterprising football administrator, the best goalkeeper will go home with shot-stopper’ gloves, the overall best player and the topscorer will get football boots each after the competition.
Jacob Wemegah who is touted as one of the best football administrators in the Western region, was the owner of a division one league side Fijai Real United which has been rebranded to Swedru All Blacks.
The Takoradi edition of the Baby Jet U16 tournament has over twenty-one clubs registered so far to take part in the competition.
The Baby Jet U16 tournament is an initiative from Ghana’s all-time leading topscorer Asamoah Gyan, aimed at giving back to society through football by tapping their talent at the tender age.
