Former Bechem United defender, James Opoku Nyimfah believes his fine form with Ivorian side Societe Omnisports should earn him an invitation to the Black Meteors.
The Ghana U23 side will face Algeria in the Africa U23 Championship last qualifying round with the main tournament to be hosted in Egypt.
However, the 20-year old towering center-back who has been a preferred choice in Societe Omnisports set up is hoping his dazzling form will earn him a spot in coach Ibrahim Tanko’ side ahead of the Algeria clash, insisting it will be his dream to don the national colours at any level.
“It’s every players dream to don the national jersey, and am of no exception. I have started well here [Societe Omnisports] even though I joined the team few weeks ago. I have become a first-choice defender in any of our games and I believe I deserve to earn a spot in the call-up”, ambitious Nyimfah told Kyfilla.com.
Meanwhile, the main tournament has been slated for 8th-22nd November, 2019 with eight teams to partake. The final three teams automatically get the chance to represent Africa in the 2020 Summer Olympics.
