Genk forward, Joseph Paintsil has confirmed his inclusion in the Black Stars provisional squad for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.[ads2]
The 24-year old has been in a blistering form in the Belgian league and currently on the lips of Ghanaians calling for his inclusion in the Ghana squad for the mundial in the Arabian country after missing out on Brazil, Nicaragua friendlies in September this year.
Even though coach Otto Addo is yet to announce the Black Stars squad, reports indicate that Paintsil has been included in the country’s provisional squad for the tournament.[ads3]
Confirming the reports, Joseph Paintsil in an interview with voetbalkrant.com disclosed that he had been included in the provisional squad list and is hoping to make the final squad for the World Cup.
“I am in the pre-selection. I hope to be among the 26 in the final selection. It will be announced within a week or so. My goal and my assist may also be important with a view to the World Cup.”[ads4]
Paintsil has had an impressive start to the season in the Belgian league, scoring six times and providing four assists.
Meanwhile, Black Stars head coach, Otto Addo is expected to name his final squad list for the Qatar World Cup on November 14.[ads5]
