Black Stars B head coach, Maxwell Konadu says he is confident Ghana will lift the AFCON 2019 giant trophy considering the materials available.
According to Maxwell Konadu, Ghana boast of enough quality to clinch the AFCON trophy for the fifth time after last winning it in 1982 in Libya.
“We have quality players to win the Afcon trophy and I have confidence in the team but we must give them time and lower our expectations in the tournament”, Konadu told Ashh FM.
The former Kumasi Asante Kotoko gaffer continued that, even though most of the players are not playing regularly at their various clubs, playing in a tournament is a different thing all together and with unity, Ghana can lift the ultimate again.
“Though most of our players are not playing regularly at their various clubs, playing in a tournament is different and I know with unity, we can win the Afcon trophy”.
“We must encourage the team but not to put pressure on them to win the trophy at all cost because every team going to the tournament is also going to compete for the trophy”, Maxwell Konadu added.
Meanwhile, Black Stars head coach, James Kwesi Appiah has announced the final 23-member squad for the main tournament in Egypt.
The team will play South Africa in a last pre-afcon friendly in Dubai before they emplane to Egypt. Ghana will face Benin in the opening game at the Ismaily Stadium.
