The Police in Takoradi have announced that the woman who was kidnapped in the region and reappeared six days later was never pregnant.
The victim identified as Josephine Panyin Mensah is said to have been kidnapped on Thursday, September 16, 2021 when going for. routine walk at dawn around 5:00AM.[ads2]
It was stated that she was nine-month old pregnant when she was kidnapped.
On Tuesday, September 21, 2021, Mrs. Mensah was found in Axim in the Western Region without the pregnancy, stating that she gave birth but the kidnappers have stolen the baby.[ads3]
But the police in a statement have stated that preliminary investigations suggest that Mrs. Mensah was never pregnant within the period under review.[ads4]
The statement further state that three persons have been arrested over alleged conspiracy but the woman is currently receiving treatment at the Axim Government Hospital.
