Sekondi Hasaacas have denied comment by Hon. Egyapa Mercer that the club has requested for jerseys and footballs from the legislator.
The Member of Parliament for Sekondi is said to have said on Radio Premier that management of Sekondi Hasaacas have made a request to assist them by providing them with footballs and jerseys.[ads2]
But a statement from Hasaacas has squashed the comment from the legislator which reads, “It has come to the notice of Sekondi Hasaacas Football Club, a story broadcast yesterday by Radio Premier in relation to comments made by the Member of Parliament for Sekondi Constituency, Honorable Andrew Kofi Egyapa Mercer”
“Lawyer Egyapa Mercer was captured on video saying the Hasmal has made request for jerseys and footballs from him”
“In the said video, Lawyer Egyapa Kofi Mercer could not state who made that request on behalf of the club”[ads3]
“The management and top hierarchy of the Club deny making such request from the Honorable Member of Parliament for Sekondi”
“The Club has since contacted Lawyer Egyapa Mercer on the said story and he confirms no such request has been made by Us”
“However, management welcomes thoughts shared by the Member of Parliament on plans to assist Sekondi Hasaacas Football Club.”[ads4]
The statement further continues that, “Sekondi Hasaacas Football Club is working hard and cooperating in good faith with the various leaderships, supporters and fans in the Region to assist in pushing the Club up to its rightful place on the Ghana Football Pyramid”
“Again, there has been some unsurprising comments by some media personnel supported by unverifiable information following the emergence of the said interview”
“The Club entreats Supporters and the entire Public to disregard such reports”
“Sekondi Hasaacas Football Club will in the coming days unveil its kits partnership which will cover the three teams under the Sekondi Hasaacas Football Club Brand.”[ads5]
