U.S. Embassy restores full validity periods for nonimmigrant visas to Ghanaians

The United States Embassy in Accra has announced the restoration of maximum validity periods for all categories of nonimmigrant visas issued to Ghanaians.

In a statement, the Embassy confirmed that the B1/B2 visitor visa will once again be valid for up to five years with multiple entry, while the F1 student visa has also been restored to a four-year multiple-entry validity.

This development returns visa validity to the periods previously available to Ghanaian applicants, after a reduction in recent years.

The Embassy noted that the decision reflects continued efforts to strengthen people-to-people exchanges, educational opportunities, and business ties between Ghana and the United States.

The announcement has been welcomed by prospective travellers, particularly students and business professionals, who view the move as a significant boost to mobility and long-term planning.

The Embassy encouraged applicants to continue following official procedures for visa applications, emphasising that while validity periods have been restored, approval for each case remains subject to standard eligibility requirements.
