President Akufo-Addo based on the Executive Instrument has declared Monday, December 7 as a public holiday.
According to a statement from the Presidency, the decision has been taken to ensure a smooth elections on the day with all Coronavirus safety protocols observed.[ads2]
This follows a proposal from the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Mrs. Jean Mensa supported by the Inter Party Advisory Committee (IPAC) for the president to declare Monday as a public holiday.[ads3]
