Owusu, Konkoni and Basiru in tough contest for NASCO Player of the Month award

The Premier League Board have announced nominees for the NASCO Ghana Premier League player of the month of April.

The list have Bechem United talisman Hafiz Wontah Konkoni alongside Dreams FC sensation Leonard Owusu and WAFA’s Umar Basiru vying for the ultimate price.

Wontah Konkoni managed to net five times for his side, Bechem United in the month of April with one man of the match award whereas Dreams FC’s Leonard Owusu provided three assists, grabbing three man of the match awards.

Umar Basiru, on the other side had two man of the match awards, scoring a goal for his side West African Football Academy [WAFA] in the month of April.

Meanwhile, nominees for coach of the month of April has also been announced with Karela United head coach, Johnson Smith competing with Berekum Chelsea’s Svetislav Tanasijevic and Elmina Sharks gaffer Yaw Acheampong.

Johnson Smith of newly promoted side Karela United had a splendid performance in April after playing six matches, winning three and drawing two with one defeat whereas Svetislav Tanasijevic played six matches, grabbing three wins and two draws with one defeat.

Yaw Acheampong of Elmina Sharks also did well in the aforesaid month, annexing three wins and two draws with no defeat. Here Sharks game against Medeama was not included as the case is still with the Disciplinary Committee of the Ghana Football Association.

The winner will be announced by the end of week with the coach of the month to receive 40 inches of LED television, a trophy and an electronic men’s grooming set whereas the player of the month will be presented 32 LED television, a trophy and an electronic men’s grooming set from the sponsors NASCO.
