Ebo Kwaitoo, the manager for Ghanaian forward Shafiu Mumuni has said only an extraordinary deal will push his client to sign for Asante Kotoko.
Mumuni has been a long-standing transfer target for Asante Kotoko throughout the transfer window.
Though the initial negotiations came to a halt, it is reported that renegotiations have started between the two parties.

Reacting to the widespread reportage in the local media, Ebo Kwaitoo stated that Kotoko are yet to open renegotiations with his client and even with that only an audacious deal will compel the goal poacher to sign for the Porcupine Warriors since he believes the player has lost interest in the local league.
He disclosed that Young Africans in Tanzania were willing to offer the Black Stars “B” striker $50,000 as transfer fee and $5,000 as monthly salary but if Kotoko want the service of the player then they must be able to table what Young Africans and other clubs were willing to pay.

“We held talks sometime back and informed them we have options in Europe,North Africa and Asia and as far as we are concerned nothing has changed, we are still focused”, Ebo Kwaitoo told Kumasi FM.
“If Kotoko still has interest in him to convince him to play then they have to come with a better offer that supercede our expectations as compared to the foreign ones”
“I met Nana Yaw Amponsah sometime back but nothing concrete was decided because it was not part of our options hence we saw it as premature. Shafiu would have signed for an European club had it not been the closure of boarders at Spain to African countries. We had an offer from Apollon Smyrnis in Greece two weeks ago but they failed to give the visa due to the EU restrictions. We have other options all over the world; Asia, North Africa etc”
“Shafiu lost interest in the local league in January so if something must compel him to play then it has to be an extraordinary offer”

“So far we have engaged more than hundred agents looking for Shafiu but we want the best for him. No Ghanaian club can meet the offer from these clubs”
“Young Africans in Tanzania were ready to offer $50,000 signing on fee and $5,000 monthly salary”, he added.
Shafiu Mumuni is currently a free agent after ending his stay at AshantiGold Sporting Club.
