NSA boss, Peter Twumasi reveal when Asante Kotoko will return to Baba Yara Stadium

The Director-General of the National Sports Authority, Professor Peter Twumasi has revealed when Asante Kotoko will return to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium.

Asante Kotoko have been using the Accra Sports Stadium as their home venue this season due to renovation works ongoing at their favorite ground in Kumasi.[ads2]

The club recently opted for the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium in Tamale as their home venue due to congestion at the Accra Sports Stadium but later rescinded their decision.

Many, particularly Asante Kotoko supporters have been asking when the club will return to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium since their followers in the Ashanti Region have missed the team playing at the Stadium.[ads3]

Speaking to Boss FM, Professor Peter Twumasi has disclosed that Asante Kotoko could return to the Baba Yara Sports Stadium by the end of January, 2021.

He stated that the renovation works is progressing speedily with about ninety percent of the work done.[ads4]

“Asante Kotoko will return to Baba Yara Yara Stadium by the end of this month [January]”, Professor Twumasi revealed.

“The renovation work is progressing, with 90% of the works done. 40,500 chairs have been fixed, flood lights, brand new scoreboard and others all installed. The pitch works will start on Wednesday, January 6, 2021”, he added..[ads5]
