The Director-General of the National Sports Authority (NSA), Professor Peter Twumasi has on Tuesday, November 2, 2021 inspected the progress of works at the Sekondi Sports Stadium.
The state-owned edifice is currently under renovation after almost eleven years of no maintenance.[ads2]
Professor Twumasi inspected the stadium located within the Sekondi-Takoradi metropolis to assess progress of work.
Currently, the replacement of decayed metal beams and supports for the roof is completed; and treatment of the metals with anti-rust quoting material is also progressing smoothly before installation of new non-corrosive roofing sheets.[ads3]
According to the Minister, the stadium is expected to be reopened for sporting activities in the region early next year.
The inspection work ended with staff durbar to address various issues of achievements and challenges.
Other senior officers present were the Regional Director, Mr Alabi Joseph Bortey and National Union Chairman of NSA, Mr Michael Mensah Tabiri.[ads5]
