The Director-General of the National Sports Authority, Professor Peter Twumasi has on Tuesday, November 30, 2021 donated newly procured mowing machines to the Western Regional Sports Directorate of the authority.
The donation is to aid in the management of the football pitch at the Sekondi Sports Stadium after concerns were raised by the Directorate which is undergoing preparatory works to revive it to the final stage.[ads2]
The Head of Procurement at the NSA, Ebenezer Ohene on behalf of Professor Peter Twumasi, presented the machines to the Western Regional Sports Director Joseph Alabi Bortey in a brief ceremony.
Speaking during the presentation, Mr. Alabi Bortey stated that weedicide application have been carefully done to get rid of all foreign weeds for rejuvenating purposes and the final stage is the mowing hence the need for a mowing machines to help protect the pitch.
