Telecommunication giant, MTN has introduced a new system to fight mobile money fraud.
The company has now introduced the “No ID Card, No cash out” system which means mobile money customers will have to show a valid national identification card to enable a successful cash out.[ads2]
This new system, according to a statement from the company, will start from February 1, 2021 with the aim of reducing mobile money fruad.[ads3]
Failure to show a valid ID Card means one can’t withdraw money from his/her mobile money account.
