MATCH REPORT: Aduana Stars succumb Kosta Papic’s Hearts of Oak to 2:0 defeat

Aduana Stars have given Hearts of Oak head coach, Kosta Papic the reality check after a defeat at Dormaa on Wednesday.

Kosta Papic started well at Hearts of Oak, beating Dreams FC at the Accra Sports Stadium, hoping to continue with firm form at the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park in Dormaa but went otherwise.

Aduana Stars gave an explosive performance to make sure Hearts of Oak returned to Accra without a point.[ads2]

Goals from Yahaya Mohammed and Prince Acquah did the magic for Aduana Stars at the virtually empty Nana Agyemang Badu Park.

The Ogya Boys started the game incredibly, with Yahaya Mohammed coming close to the opener but was flagged offside by the assistant referee.

Heart of Oak responded very well with defender Raddy Ovuoka making one of the frightening crossing which nearly resulted to the opener in the 12th minute was goalkeeper Joseph Addo saved the situation.[ads3]

Aduana Stars bossed Hearts of Oak throughout resulting to the opener in the 42th minute.

It was Isaac Kwain’s corner that fell on the head of Yahaya Mohammed but his effort was fell on Flavien Kongoza whose strike deflected Yahaya Mohammed for a goal.

The first half ended 1:0 for Aduana Stars who dominated the entire forty-five minutes.

The Dormaa-based club returned from the break with fireworks but all efforts yielded no results.

In the 48th minute of the second half, Prince Acquah met a rebound from Isaac Kwain where he strike from a 25-yard straight to the net of Hearts of Oak to make it 2:0 for the home side.[ads4]

As when many thought the game is over, the center referee awarded Hearts of Oak a last minute penalty but Raddy Ovuoka placed the ball into the waiting hands of goalkeeper Joseph Addo.

Hearts of Oak will continue their campaign away to King Faisal in week six of the Ghana Premier League whiles Aduana Stars will travel to Berekum to face Chelsea at the Golden City Park.[ads5]
