John Antwi scores only goal as Pyramids beat Al-Ittihad in CAF Confederation Cup

Ghanaian goal scorer, John Antwi Duku netted the only goal as Pyramids FC defeated Al-Ittihad Tripoli in the first leg of the CAF Confederation Cup in Egypt on Tuesday afternoon.

Antwi was saviour of the day for Pyramids FC as his only goal in the second half of the game secured them victory against the Libyans.[ads2]

The first half was goalless as both sides failed to find the net of each other despite the Egyptian side dominating possession.

In just eleven minutes into the second half, John Antwi Duku scored a beautiful goal for the last season’s CAF Confederation Cup losing finalist.[ads3]

Antwi fed on Ahmed Tawfiq’s cross to score the goal for Pyramids FC on Tuesday afternoon in Egypt.

The goal gives Pyramids FC confidence ahead of the second leg in Libya.[ads4]

John Antwi who happens to be a former player for Sekondi Eleven Wise has been in a scintillating form for Pyramids FC since joining from fellow Egyptian Premier League outfit Misr El-Makasa.

He was the team’s top scorer last season and currently holds the record as the foreigner with the highest goals since the inception of football in Egypt.[ads5]
