Jennifer Cudjoe reiterates lack of support for Black Queens ahead of AWCON2018

Former Black Princesses midfielder, Jennifer Cudjoe has expressed worry over the lack of support from Ghanaians to the senior women’s national team.

With less than three more months to the 2018 African Women’s Cup of Nations, the Black Queens have resorted to a national tour to fine tune preparation ahead of the 2018 AWCON.

Black Queens are currently partaking in some friendly games against some regional select sides and National Women’s League clubs to further fine-tune before the tournament.

Coach Bashiru Hayford and his lasses have already played Kumasi Sports Academy and Kumasi Select side at the Baba Yara Stadium.

The two friendlies which saw the Senior Women’s team scoring six and conceding none, but had very low turn out which according to Jennifer Cudjoe is a worry and a disappointment.

Jennifer Cudjoe who’s currently serving as a coach kum player for Ashefield Shield FC in USA shared her disappointment in a tweet.

From November 17 to December 1, Ghana will welcome Mali, Zambia, Algeria, Nigeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and South Africa to compete for the coveted 11th edition of the African Women’s Cup of Nations trophy.

The tournament will also serve as qualifiers, where the three top nations will make it to the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup.
