Ghanaian football bighead Jones Abu Alhassan is dead

The Ghanaian football fraternity has been hit with a very sad news as top football brain Jones Abu Alhassan has passed away.

The astute football personality was reported dead on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in the Ivorian capital of Abidjan.

He died in Abidjan after accompanying Hasaacas Ladies in the just ended WAFU Cup as part of the Ghana FA delegation to the tournament.[ads2]

Mr. Abu Alhassan died at the age of 64.

According to Ghanasoccernet, the Black Stars management committee member fell ill on Friday evening as he prepared to return to Ghana following Hasaacas Ladies’ annexation of the WAFU B Clubs Championship title last week.

He was immediately hospitalised as his condition deteriorated but could not survive after spending just three days in hospital.[ads3]

Plans were underway to fly him back to Accra on Tuesday afternoon but he passed away in the morning in the hospital.

Alhassan, who was the long time manager of legendary Ghanaian footballer Abedi Pele, was an astute football administrastor and football agent for several top players in the country.[ads4]

The ardent Hearts of Oak fan has been an intelligent lifelong football administor and has been among the leadership of several clubs in the Northern region of Ghana.

He served in various capacities of the giants of the north Real Tamale United before branching out to play a major role for Tamale City Football Club.[ads5]
