Renowned sportscaster, Ekow Essilfie has left Ghanaian media conglomerate, Focus 1 Media, Kyfilla.com can exclusively reveal.
Kyfilla.com can exclusively reveal that the award-winning sportscaster has called it a quit with the fast rising media hub after over three years of service.
Though the exact reason for leaving the media house is unknown, Kyfilla.com understands the sharp-witted sportscaster has left to concentrate on family issues and other personal stuffs.[ads4]
Affectionately called “The Ruler”, the ace sportscaster was the head of sports and station’s manager at Beach FM, a subsidiary of Focus 1 Media in Takoradi of the Western Region.
He joined Focus 1 Media Group in August, 2018 after leaving Melody FM also in Takoradi.
A deep throat has revealed to Kyfilla.com that the versatile broadcaster could be on his way to Accra with about three top radio stations already commencing talks with him for a possible move.
Ekow Essilfie is highly remembered for his days at Melody FM where he formed a fearsome partnership with knowledgeable sports pundits like Seth Kofi Aseidu, Manucho ManGandi, Macall Mensah, Evans Quansah and host of others.[ads1]
His show then was a huge sports programme, an English-speaking show that wrestled shoulders with the twi-speaking sports shows in the Western Region for equal listenership.
Ekow Essilfie was then grabbing all the awards in the region as far as sports hosting is concerned – he is considered as one of the top academia in the region as far as sports is concerned.
