Coach CK Akonnor has recalled two locally-based players to the Black Stars camp for 2021 AFCON qualifiers this month.
Akonnor has recalled Medeama Sporting Club ace Justice Blay and Asante Kotoko defender Mubarik Yusif for AFCON qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome and Princepe.[ads2]
The two players have been recalled to the Black Stars camp due to the unavailability of Amiens SC duo Nicholas Opoku and Emmanuel Lomotey because of COVID-19 travel ban in France.
Both Justice Blay and Mubarik Yusif were dropped from the initial squad after training with the Black Stars team for weeks.[ads3]
Ghana face South Africa on March 25 in Johannesburg before engaging Sao Tome and Principe on March 29, 2021.[ads5]
