Awful state of Sekondi Sports Stadium after 11 years

Sekondi Sports Stadium built under the regime of His Excellency John Agyekum Kufour in 2007 is currently in a deplorable states.

The edifice which was built prior to the 2008 African Cup of Nations has not seen any improvement and currently nears collapsing whereas some facilities at the stadium are not in good shape.

The Press center is wretched whereas the washrooms are very appalling which has even resulted in supporters easing themselves in bushes surrounding the stadium.

The edifice hosted Ivory Coast , Mali, Guinea and Nigeria in the group stages of the 2008 AFCON tournament and is currently being use by Sekondi Hasaacas as their home venue.

  After eleven years, the edifice is shockingly in bad condition which serves as a breeding grounds for dangerous reptiles with the ceiling falling down each blessed day.

However, the Minister of Youth and Sports, Honorable Isaac Asiamah in his last visit to the Western region in May last year promised to revamp the the shabby structure in due time.

Sekondi Sports Stadium is located in Essipong, a suburb of Sekondi in the Western region.
