Sekondi Takoradi Metropolitan Assembly (STMA) showed class in the maiden edition of the National Sports Authority (Western region) and the Ghana National Petroleum Corporation’s Inter-districts athletics championship.
STMA who had a star staderd team showed supremacy by winning both the boys and the girls division in the one day competition held at the Sekondi Sports Stadium, Western region.
After the the competition, STMA amassed 96 points in the boys division to secure the first spot whereas competitors SHAMA district placed second with 83.5 points with Bibiani placing third with 22 points.
Mpohor district had 20 points to sit fourth whereas Tarkwa accumulated 19 to place fifth with Ellembele district sitting sixth with 16 points.
Wassa East, EKMA had 15 points to placed seventh and Amenfi East placing nineth with 13.5 points whiles Suaman districts had 13 to secure the tenth spot.
Wiawso had 9 points to finished eleventh whereas Prestea Huni Valley had 8 points to place twelveth and Jomoro districts together with Ahanta West, Nzema East and Amenfi West all languishing on the fifteenth position with zero point.
In the girls division, STMA won with 72 points with Prestea placing second with 67 whereas Tarkwa were third with 37 points.
Wiawso this time around placed fourth with 30 points with SHAMA shockingly sitting fifth with 27 points whereas sixth position went to EKMA with 17 points.
Nzema East had 14 points to placed seventh whereas Wassa East were eight with 12 points and Bibiani placing ninth 10 points.
Ellembele districts had 7 points to sit twelfth position and the thirteenth slot going to Amenfi East whiles Jomoro districts had 5 to sit foutheenth position.
Amenfi West and Ahanta West had zero points languishing at the fifteenth position.
