Hearts of Oak were held to a pulsating 2:2 draw by AshantiGold Sporting Club in week two of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium on Tuesday evening.
The Phobians were yet to play a game prior to this encounter after having their league opener against Aduana Stars postponed due to Coronavirus issues.
Having started the game on a brighter note, Hearts of Oak were more determined in the early minutes of the first half but AshantiGold Sporting Club defence led by Richard Osei Agyemang managed to hold Hearts of Oak attackers of Patrick Razak, Kwadwo Obeng Junior and Daniel Afriyie Barnieh.[ads2]
But Kwadwo Obeng Junior who was a delight to watch in the tantalizing encounter had the opener for Hearts of Oak in the 32nd minute to end the first half.
AshantiGold returned from the tunnel with much resilience and determination to restore parity which led to Hans Kwoffie doing the magic in the 56th minute of the cagey encounter.[ads3]
The equalizer didn’t deter Hearts of Oak who were willing to snatch the full points from the hands of desirous AshantiGold Sporting Club side.
In-form Kwame Obeng Junior restored the lead again for Hearts of Oak in the 80th minute with a stunner but that didn’t last as Hans Kwoffie brought AshantiGold Sporting Club to a levelled pecking after just two minutes.[ads4]
The game ended 2:2 at the Accra Sports Stadium with Kwadwo Obeng Junior and Hans Kwoffie scoring a brace each for their respective teams.
Hearts of Oak will face Inter Allies in week three of the Ghana Premier League at the Accra Sports Stadium whiles AshantiGold Sporting Club have had their clash with King Faisal Football Club postponed by the Ghana FA.[ads5]
