Ghana Premier League side Berekum Chelsea have distanced themselves from the thoughtless comments made by their Chief Executive Officer Oduro Sarfo in a live radio interview.
Oduro Sarfo, an Executive Council member of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) is said to have made a heedless comments when asked during a live interview on Accra-based Angel FM about the nature of the Berekum Golden City Park.[ads2]
He is reported to have said, “Some of the players even play on grassless pitches so what are you talking about? Nobody has asked you to call me. I’m watching Nigerian movie and that is more precious to me at this point. We have finished playing the game and I don’t care about anything anymore. If you don’t understand go and ‘collect’ the three points from us,” he told Accra-based Angel FM.
“Nobody has tasked you to enquire why we played football on that pitch. If pictures are going around, what hasn’t happened before.[ads3]
“I did not take anybody’s money before playing the game. I invested in my own game. That’s it. Forget it.We have played the game on the pitch, if you’re unhappy we don’t care. We shall continue to play on the pitch.”
His comment has sparked an unease rest in the media with some bigheads in the industry bashing the ace football administrator for the reckless comment.[ads4]
In a statement, Berekum Chelsea have distanced themselves from the comment made by their Chief Executive Officer, but have apologized to all Ghanaian football loving fan hurt by the comment of their CEO.
