President of the Ghana Football Association (GFA), Kurt Okraku has said Milovan Rajevac is the best coach to have ever handled the Black Stars.
According to the GFA capo, the Serbian performed extraordinary well during his first stint as the head coach of the Ghana senior male national team.[ads2]
Milovan Rajevac was named the Black Stars head coach from 2008-2010 where he took Ghana to the finals of the AFCON for the first time after twenty years in 2010 and also guided the country to quarterfinals of the world cup in same year.
And with these, Kurt Okraku believes the 67-year old is for now, the best tactician Ghana has ever employed despite not winning the country any trophy.[ads3]
“Milovan Rajevac is the best coach Ghana has ever employed if you ask me, because he took us to the AFCON final and quarter-final of the World Cup same year in South Africa. At his time, we witnessed the best of performance of our senior national team. All we need to do now is to support the process”, Mr. Okraku said when unveiling the former Algeria national team gaffer as the new Black Stars head coach at the GFA Secretariat on Friday, September 24, 2021.
Milovan Rajevac has been handed the Black Stars coaching job for a period of twelve months subject to renewal with a monthly salary of $30,000.00.[ads4]
He has taken over the mantle from CK Akonnor who was sacked as the head coach of the Black Stars fortnight aback over poor performance.
Coach Rajevac will be assisted by former Asante Kotoko head coach Maxwell Konadu and Borussia Dortmund assistant coach Otto Addo.
He is expected to qualify Ghana to the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar and probably win the country the AFCON trophy after 39 years of not laying hands on the prestigious trophy.[ads5]
