Sunyani based Prisons Officer Sergeant Baffour Awuah is on the verge to be demoted after assaulting FIFA female referee Theresa Bremansu.
According to source at the top hierarchy of the Ghana Prisons Service, the Sunyani based Sergeant will be demoted to a position of a corporal as a punishment for engaging in hooliganism.
Per Kyfilla.com findings, it takes four years for a corporal in the Ghana Prisons Service to attain the position of a Sergeant which means Baffour Awuah will have to toil for four years to gain his position as a Sergeant again.
Baffour Awuah was reported for beating referee Theresa Bremansu during Prisons Ladies semi-final clash against Ampem Darkoa Ladies at Sunyani in the NC Women’s Special Competition.
According to reporters, Baffour Awuah and four other civilians rushed to the pitch and attacked referee Theresa Bremansu for failing to add enough injury time to a game their side Prisons Ladies lost by 0:1.
Kyfilla.com understands, the top hierarchy at the Ghana Prisons Service have met referee Theresa Bremansu and have asked her to withdraw the case at court of which she has accepted.
