President of the Ghana Para Powerlifting Association, Mr. Samson Deen has been elected President of National Paralympic Committee of Ghana (NPC-Gjana), after polling 7 out of 13 Votes in a keenly contested elections which took place on Saturday 6th July, 2019 at the Sports Hall of Accra Sports Stadium.
His only challenger, Mr. Mohammed Shaaban, the Technical Director of the Ghana Cycling Federation polled six votes at the third edition of NPC elections.
Mr. Otu Frederick Lartey, current Treasurer for Ghana Olympic Committee and also the president of Ghana Taekwondo Federation defeated Mr. Eric Kissi the incumbent vice president of the National Paralympic Committee; 7 to 6 votes to win the Vice president position.
Mr. Peter Adjei won the General Secretary position, after polling 7 votes as against 6 by Piahar Otor.
Mr. Yeboah Evans polled 7 votes as against 6 by Mr. Wilson Agbesi to win the position of a Treasurer.
Mr. Ibrahim Sani, Mr. Larbi Henry Kwaku Nyanteh, Philip Otuo and Mr. Kweku Twum Barimah elected as Executive Members.
Mr. Samson Deen, who is also the president of Ghana Para Powerlifting Association, expressed his gratitude to the delegates for the endorsement and pledged to move the National Paralympic Committee (NPC) to a different level and also promised to donate a new office and a car to the National Paralympic Committee for effective and efficient functioning of the committee.
