Sleeky Promotions, a former promoter for missing Ghanaian artiste Theophilus Tagoe popularly known as Castro has said the musician is not dead.
It is exactly seven years that Castro and girlfriend Janet Bandu went missing at the ada river after a hangout with legendary Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan and his brother Baffour Gyan.[ads2]
And as the laws of Ghana make it clearer that a missing person can only be declared dead after seven years – many are of the belief that the Seihor composer is dead.
But speaking with Nana Kojo Amoasi on Takoradi-based Ahoto FM morning show on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 – Sleeky believes Castro and Janet Bandu are alive and not dead.
“I respect the laws of Ghana, but I believe Castro and Janet are not dead.. Though the law can declare them dead, it is for the families to accept it or not since their bodies have not been found…. Aside that, naturally if a person drowns in the sea, after pouring libation and performing the necessary rites, the body had to be found in few days, but in the case of Castro and Janet, the necessary rites were performed but still their bodies were not found, so I believe they are still alive”, he said.[ads3]
Meanwhile, the father of Castro, Mr. Eshun on the same show stated that the family will not hold any funeral for Castro even if the court declares him dead.
According to him, since the body of Castro has not been found, there is no justification that his son is dead, hence their decision of not holding a funeral even after the court declaration.
“Since the incident happened, we [the family] have been following the case through till now – the police and the other security agencies have done their best in the search and I must recommend them”, he said..[ads4]
” On whether to hold a funeral, we haven’t made a decision yet because we haven’t seen the body, and until we sees it, we will continue to do our consultations, there would be no funeral. We as the family respect the laws of the country and we have no qualms in the declaration, but we as a family haven’t declared him [Castro] dead yet.”
He added that should his son fail to appear before the declaration, the family will do some consultations before they will announce their stands on the case.[ads5]
