The Atlas Lions of Morocco managed to defeat the Black Stars of Ghana by a goal to nil in an international friendly on Tuesday evening.
The cagey encounter held at the FAR Sportive Stadium this evening saw Ghana given a tantalizing display despite playing as the visitors.
The friendly is to prepare the two countries for the upcoming African Cup of Nations to be held in Cameroon.
The Black Stars started slowing but quickly warmed themselves into the game with Mohammed Kudus, Andy Yiadom displaying quality performance.
Coach CK Akonnor had his defensive back four right with Daniel Amartey and Nicholas Opoku forming a solid partnership in the heart of defense for Ghana.
The Moroccans also had a good day with Munir El Haddadi proving stubborn upfront.
The first half ended goalless with Morocco creating many chances than Ghana who was having an ineffective attack throughout the entire first forty-five minutes.
The second half saw the Moroccans upping their game following the introduction of Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech.
Jawad El Yamiq broke the virginity of the game for the Moroccans who were pressing harder for the breakthrough.
El Yamiq headed home a freekick from Hakim Ziyech in the 68th minute with a poor goalkeeping from Ghana goalkeeper Razak Abalora.
Coach CK Akonnor made few changes with the likes of Andre Ayew, Alexander Djiku, Emmanuel Gyasi into the game with the hope of getting the equalizer but all efforts were fruitless as the game ended 1:0 in favour of Morocco.
